Due dates that never land on a closed day
Loan servicing runs on business days: due dates, autopay pull dates, grace periods and maturities. Bankday gives you the Federal Reserve calendar (and Payments Canada, TARGET2 and Bacs) through 2040 with the roll conventions built in, so nobody has to type holidays in for the full loan term.
Mistakes we keep finding
While building Bankday we read the holiday and payment-timing pages of dozens of companies in this space. These come up again and again:
- Asking each lender to enter the holidays for the whole loan term by hand before business-day rolls work.
- Keeping two holiday lists, one in loan settings and one for the ACH processor, that drift apart until an autopay pull lands on a holiday.
- Letting back-office edits to the holiday list re-flow repayment schedules and shift maturity dates on loans that are already booked.
- Pinning autopay to the 1st without a roll rule: January 1, 2027 is a Friday and a Fed holiday.
Roll a due date
Following, preceding, modified following and modified preceding, on any calendar or combination of calendars:
curl "https://bankday.dev/v1/business-days/roll?calendar=us-fed&date=2031-05-31&convention=modified_following" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $BANKDAY_KEY"
{ "date": "2031-05-31", "convention": "modified_following", "result": "2031-05-30", "adjusted": true }
Also included
- Grace periods:
/v1/business-days/addand/countmeasure grace periods and late-fee eligibility in business days. - Autopay timing:
/v1/ach/settlementtells you when a standard or Same Day ACH debit settles. - Long terms: Calendars run through 2040, and dates outside coverage return an error instead of a silent guess.
- In-house systems: A dataset licence delivers the calendars as files for servicing platforms that can't call an external API.
