The scheduled July 1, 2025 increase was suspended for one year by the City Council on May 21, 2025 to help businesses hit by the Palisades Fire, so $17.27 stayed in effect through June 30, 2026. The city's 2025 poster says the wage 'will remain at $17.27 per hour for Fiscal Year 2025-2026' (https://www.malibucity.org/DocumentCenter/View/35977/2025-Minimum-wage---Poster).
