Good to know

Hotel and non-hotel rates change on different dates, so between January 1 and June 30 the hotel rate can be lower than the non-hotel rate (for example $20.87 against $20.94 in the first half of 2027). The ordinance sets them separately. Paying the higher of the two is the safe choice.
Learners may be paid 85% of the minimum wage, rounded to the nearest nickel, for their first 160 hours.
Full-time employees also get at least 96 hours of paid leave and 80 hours of unpaid leave a year.
California doesn't allow a tip credit, so tipped employees get the full rate.
