January 1, 2028: Annual CPI adjustment under Article 1, Paragraph 23 of the NJ Constitution. NJDOL announces the next January rates in late September or early October (2027 rates on September 29, 2026). Statutory steps for seasonal and small employers end in 2028 and for farm workers in 2030; after that they follow the CPI adjustment too. (nj.gov)

Tipped workers: minimum cash wage $6.05 (2026) and $6.61 (2027); the maximum tip credit stays at $9.87.
Minors under 18 are not covered except in listed occupations (retail, food service, first processing of farm products, beauty culture, laundry, cleaning and dyeing, light manufacturing and apparel, and hotels and motels).
