Good to know
- For 2026 the city's own calculated rate was $11.85 ($10.85 with benefits), below New Mexico's $12.00, so the city's 2026 notice said the state rate prevails. The 2026 periods use the prevailing $12.00, which is what the city's current table shows for January 1, 2026 (it was also $12.00 in 2025).
- The city's tipped wage ($7.20) is well above the state's $3.00.
- For 2027 the general rate rises to $13.00 while the benefits rate stays $12.00 and the tipped wage stays $7.20 (the city's 2027 notice). The city code shows an amendment in 2026 (Ord. 2026-018).
- Rates in the 2026 period are quoted from the 2027 notice table, whose first column is the rate as of January 1, 2026.
