Good to know

Service employees (more than $191 a month in tips) can be paid a direct wage of half the minimum wage, with tips making up the rest. The 2027 and 2028 tipped figures are half the minimum ($8.875 rounds up to $8.88 because the tip credit can't exceed half).
If an emergency order is in effect, the city minimum wage is 1.5 times the regular rate.
If Maine's state minimum wage rises above the city rate, the city rate rises to match.
